Grants are available for businesses in Walsall to redevelop sites for housing, improve existing properties, implement carbon saving measures, and create learning and job opportunities for locals.
The Promotion of Construction Skills through Regeneration (CStR) programme aims to improve the quality and number of available homes in Bloxwich by:
- Bringing derelict sites back into use for housing.
- Improving existing properties that need structural or environmental improvements.
- Adapting existing housing blocks or utilising garage sites to create new / additional homes.
- Implementing measures that reduce carbon consumption and energy costs.
- Creating learning opportunities, jobs and apprenticeships for local* residents.
The programme also aims to retain finances in the local economy by:
- Engaging local* companies as part of the supply chain.
- Employing local* people.
- Buying local* goods and services.
