Scottish Government Opens £25m COVID-19 Business Ventilation Fund

Scotland’s business premises owners can now access grants to improve ventilation and reduce the spread of coronavirus.

The Scottish Government’s COVID-19 Business Ventilation Fund is expected to help small and medium businesses improve ventilation and air quality on their premises, thereby helping to reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.

Grants will target a range of high risk settings where people come into close proximity, including restaurants, bars and gyms, with support available to help companies undertake works, such as the installation of carbon dioxide monitors and altering windows and vents.

The programme has a total budget of £25 million. Businesses can claim up to £2,500 per eligible premises to recover the costs of carrying out work to improve ventilation and air quality.

Where a business operates multiple premises, it can apply for a grant for each premise which is eligible. An upper limit of £50,000 in total will apply to any eligible business operating multiple premises.

Applications can be made until Thursday 31 March 2022 or when funds are exhausted –  whichever occurs first.
