New Funding to Boost Scotland’s Tourism Sector
Scotland’s destination and sectoral groups can access funds to develop strong visitor propositions reflective of identified post-COVID-19 trends.
VisitScotland’s new Destination & Sector Marketing Fund focuses on the post-pandemic recovery of the tourism sector. It will help businesses harness the latest consumer insights to develop and market their visitor experiences sustainably and responsibly, thereby stimulating holidays and ensuring Scotland is a year-round destination.
The scheme will support activities that focus on the development and promotion of strong visitor propositions and experiences in line with identified post-COVID consumer trends, for example a campaign to promote a particular theme or a unique collection of product experiences within the destination or sector.
There are three tiers of funding:
· Tier one: City Region Award Programme – awards of between £50,000 and £100,000
· Tier two: Pan Scotland Sector Groups & Regional Destination Organisations – awards of between £40,000 and £80,000
· Tier three: Local Destination Organisations, Marketing Groups & non-Pan Scotland – awards of between £10,000 and £20,000
Destination and sectoral groups across Scotland can apply. Applications must demonstrate collaboration and strategic alignment at a regional and local level.
Tier one closes on 29 June 2021, tier two closes on 13 July 2021 and tier three closes on 23 July 2021.
