National Lottery Funding Available for High Quality Arts Projects in Wales

Following an extensive strategy consultation, the Arts Council of Wales (ACW) has reviewed and revised its National Lottery funded grants programmes and is now accepting applications for projects taking place in Wales that will meet one or more of the objectives set out in its new Corporate Plan, ‘For the Benefit of All’:

Promoting equalities as the foundation of a clear commitment to reach more widely and deeply into all communities across Wales.

Strengthening the capability and resilience of the sector, enabling creative talent to thrive.

Enabling the Arts Council to work more effectively, collaborating more imaginatively with like-minded partners across Wales.

Eligible organisations, including charitable trusts, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies and unincorporated associations, that are based in Wales, the UK or EU can apply. Small grants of between £500 and £10,000 and larger grants of up to £50,000 are available to support arts-based projects that are additional to an organisation’s usual programme of activity. Grants of more than £50,000 are available for national touring projects, while organisations holding arts festivals can apply for grants of up to £80,000.

ACW has developed eight programmes of work that reflect its Corporate Plan, and applicants must identify which one of these areas best reflects the aspirations of their project (elements of more than one of these programmes can be included):

Strategic equalities

Creative pathways

Commissioning, making and presenting

Wales and the world

Children and young people

Arts and health

Widening engagement

Business development

Small grant applications can be made at any time.

Organisations applying for large grants must have already received a small grant from ACW.

The next deadline for large grant applications is 6 November 2019.
