LIFE Programme for the Environment Call for Development of Danube River Management Plan

Following the publication of the Call for 2019 preparatory projects in May 2019 which addressed some specific needs, a second round Call has now been launched. LIFE Preparatory Projects are projects that address specific needs regarding the development and implementation of EU environmental or climate policy and legislation.

The second round Call has been launched to address the need for the development of a Danube River Management Plan and Danube Flood Risk Management Plan update 2021.

The general objective of this project is to support the development of the 2021 update of the Danube International River Basin Management Plan ie 3rd (DRBMP) and Danube International Flood Risk Management Plan ie 2nd (DFRMP).

The preparation/update every six years of the River Basin Management Plan and Flood Risk Management Plan is a requirement of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) and Floods Directive (FD) respectively. The proposed project should focus on the following topics:

Nutrient emissions

River continuity

Ecological corridor

Invasive alien species

Economic analysis

Public consultation

The maximum EU cofinancing is €200,000 (up to 60% of eligible costs).

Proposals may be submitted by any legal person registered in the European Union, including public bodies, commercial organisations, and private non-commercial organisations (including NGOs).

The deadline for submission of proposals is 30 October 2019 (16:00 Brussels local time).
