Launch of Digital Growth Grants to Boost Local Tech Activities

UK businesses, and some publicly funded organisations, who are currently running activities to support their local tech ecosystem are invited to apply for matched funding to help boost their activity.

The Digital Growth Grant Ecosystem Partnership Programme aims to boost the growth of UK tech startups and scaleups for the next two years. Successful applicants will access an ecosystem connecting them to business growth experts through dedicated programmes and mentoring.

The programme’s objectives are to:

  • Deliver support services to the digital sector.
  • Grow regional support networks for tech startups and scaleups.
  • Ensure founders and firms can access digital entrepreneurship and investment readiness training.
  • Clearly signpost startups and scaleups to existing initiatives in the private and the public sector across the UK.

The programme is backed by a £12 million UK government grant. Organisations can apply for up to £250,000 in matched funding to support their activity. There is a minimum request of £50,000 per application, which must be fully utilised.

Applications are accepted from industry-specific tech cluster organisations, local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), tech-focused incubators, accelerators and local networks, and universities and other educational institutions in the UK.

Given the regional focus of the programme, activity specific to the London ecosystem is out of scope for the programme, however London based organisations are eligible to apply for funding to deliver activity based in other regions of the UK.

The deadline for applications is 31 May 2023 (12:00 BST).
