Launch of £130m Investment Fund Supporting Wales’ Small Businesses

Loans and equity finance are on offer to support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses in Wales.

The Investment Fund for Wales (IFW) aims to drive sustainable economic growth by supporting innovation and creating local opportunity for new and growing businesses across Wales.

The programme includes a range of finance options to help small and medium-sized firms start-up, scale-up or stay ahead. With a demonstrable presence across Wales, IFW will link up with the existing small business finance ecosystem to increase reach and create an impact by helping to boost productivity, innovation and jobs.

A range of commercial finance options are provided, with smaller loans from £25,000 to £100,000, debt finance from £100,000 to £2 million and equity investment up to £5 million.

The funds in which the IFW invests are open to businesses with material operations, or planning to open material operations, in all areas of Wales, including but not limited to North Eastern Wales, North Western Wales, Mid Wales, South West Wales and South East Wales.

The funding is designed to help businesses with activities including expansion, product or service innovation, new processes, skills development, and capital equipment.

Support is available at any time.
