IUK Announces ATI Programme: R&D Funding for Smaller Businesses

This Innovate UK (IUK) competition is providing funding for industry-led, collaborative research and technology projects that will deliver world leading civil aerospace technologies in the UK. The aim is to develop and encourage technological innovation within the civil aerospace sector, which can be exploited in the next five years.

The call supports and encourages industrial investment into the aerospace sector and its supply chain, through the funding of innovative and high impact projects. These projects will demonstrate forward-looking and disruptive solutions to UK civil aerospace challenges.

Projects can focus on one or more of the following value streams from the latest UK Aerospace Technology Strategy:

Vehicles

Propulsion and power

Systems

Aerostructures

Cross-cutting enablers

IUK has allocated up to £8 million to fund innovation projects in this phase of the competition. A project’s total eligible costs must be between £250,000 and £1.5 million. A project’s total grant allocation will be between £125,000 and £750,000.

Projects must be collaborative and include a UK registered micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME). UK registered companies of any size should lead the application, collaborating with other UK businesses, research organisations, public sector organisations or charities.

The competition opens on 25 November 2019, with a deadline for applications of midday on 15 January 2020.
