Highland Council – Nature Restoration Fund

Grants are available for public sector and third sector organisations in Highland to support capital projects focused on protecting and improving the natural environment.
The Fund aims to provide ecological restoration, protect wildlife, and address biodiversity issues caused by climate change.
Projects must address one of the following themes:
- Habitat and species restoration – management for enhancement and connectivity.
- Freshwater restoration – including restoration of natural flows in rural catchments.
- Coastal and marine – initiatives which promote restoration recovery, enhancement or resilience.
- Control of invasive non-native species (INNS) – impacting on nature.
- Urban – enhancing and connecting nature across, and between, towns and cities.
Year Three of the NRF has a particular focus on establishing ‘Nature Networks’ to enhance the integration of spaces and systems.
