Grants to Promote Artistic Alliances Between Wales and France

Funding is available for artists and arts organisations in Wales and France to support long-term cultural collaborations between the two countries.

The Wales in France Cultural Fund will support arts and cultural organisations in Wales to build partnerships in France, and showcase Welsh culture as part of the Welsh Government’s Year of Wales in France 2023.

Designed to spark new, and refresh existing connections between Wales and France, the scheme will support collaborations that build long-term relationships among artists, creative practitioners, and arts and cultural organisations.

Projects will be part of the Wales in France cultural programme, which includes activity around the Rugby World Cup, showcasing Welsh identity, communicating strengths, bilingualism and commitment to sustainability, inclusion and diversity.

The programme has an overall budget of £100,000. Two grants of £30,000, and three or four smaller grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 are expected to be awarded to teams in Wales and France.

Individuals and organisations working in the field of arts and culture, creativity and wellbeing may apply. Applications must be a partnership between at least one organisation or individual based in Wales and at least one organisation or individual based in France. There must be one lead applicant, who is based in Wales.

The deadline for applications is 30 June 2023.
