Funding to Help Reduce Electrical Fires in Homes

Grants of up to £5,000 (exceptional projects could receive up to £20,000) are available for consumer safety organisations in the community to deliver effective fire prevention measures at local level aimed at tackling the causes of fires in homes that are started by electricity.

In 2020, preference will be given to projects that seek to address the risks of fires associated with electrical products and appliances and/or those that display an innovative and creative approach in raising awareness of these issues.

The funding can be used for different activities, such as checking electric blankets for the elderly, hosting events targeting hard to reach communities, or raising awareness of electrical safety with schoolchildren in deprived areas.”

The awards are made biennially.

The closing date for this year’s entries is 3 April 2020.
