Church of Scotland churches and presbyteries can apply for funding for short-term projects that engage people, address issues in the church that have been exacerbated by the pandemic and develop innovative church practices.

The Church of Scotland is offering grants of up to £1,000 to churches and presbyteries in Scotland to deliver short term projects activities of between 3 and 12 months to support early-stage work, to be a response to more immediate needs, and to help with innovation.

Through the Small Grants fund, a total of £100,000 has been made available for projects that bring about change in at least one of the following areas:

  • Developing mission through new worshipping communities (including online worship).
  • Engaging and attracting those aged 40 and under including children, young people, and families.
  • Addressing pressing issues in the church that have been brought about by the pandemic
  • Increasing experimentation with innovation in church practices.

Funding can be used for revenue project costs.

There are two calls for applications in 2022.

The first deadline for applications is 30 June 2022.
