Fund for Arts Organisations in Wales Affected by Coronavirus Crisis to Open on 21 April

The Arts Council of Wales has established a Stabilisation Fund for arts organisations that are struggling financially due to loss of income, as well as cashflow pressures resulting from the coronavirus crisis.

A total of around £5.5 million will be awarded in grants, with applications being accepted from 21 April 2020 onwards. Arts Portfolio Wales (APW) organisations as well as organisations outside the Portfolio are eligible to apply for grants of up to £35,000, to be used within six months.

The grants can be used to cover activities intended to prevent the organisation from ceasing operation due to the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis, for example:

Urgent changes of business model.

Essential operational costs (such as rent and staff costs).

IT and other equipment related costs to support home working.

Assistance with cashflow pressures.

The grants can also be used for the development and delivery of activities specifically designed to be achievable during the next six months, including:

Development projects in readiness for organisations restarting normal operations, for example organisational development.

Public-facing projects, for example digital/online activities.

The Fund will open for applications on 21 April 2020 and will close at 5pm on 8 May 2020.
