Creative Scotland’s £2m Touring Fund for Theatre and Dance Re-opens
The Touring Fund for Theatre and Dance has been developed as a collaboration between Creative Scotland, the Federation of Scottish Theatre and their members.
The Fund aims to change the way publicly-funded theatre and dance productions are toured and support greater access to a variety of theatre and dance for a diverse audience. It also aims to provide broader opportunities for a more diverse range of artists and producers.
There is a budget of £2 million to cover all projects for 2019-20. In keeping with requests from the sector to support a scale of activity and projects, there are no minimum and maximum limits on how much can be applied for. It is also the intention to award funding at the levels requested by applicants, rather than offering a lower proportion than an amount requested.
Eligible projects could support partnership working between venues and promoters, through innovative presentation in non-traditional spaces or through deep engagement with communities.
Creative Scotland will accept applications from:
Individual dance and theatre artists, companies and organisations.
Independent dance and theatre producers.
Consortia of venues.
All applicants must be based in Scotland and involved in the production, programming and/or touring of theatre and dance.
The next deadline for applications is Monday 14 October 2019.
