Climate Launchpad Applications Open for England’s Green Firms

Climate Launchpad is the world’s largest cleantech business idea competition for the purpose of turning green concepts and innovations into businesses with the potential to make an environmental impact.

There are three steps to the Climate Launchpad Programme:

Step 1: Boot Camp: A two-day Boot Camp in the applicant’s own country.

Step 2: Intensive coaching and National Finals (and if applicable Regional Finals)

Step 3: Global Grand Final: There is prize money to be won. The overall winner of the Global Grand Final receives €10,000; the runner up gets €5,000; and the idea that comes in third place wins €2,500. The top 16 teams selected by the jury to perform in the Final Round of the Global Grand Final will automatically get direct access to the Climate-KIC ClimateLaunchpad Accelerator – the business school where ideas become businesses.

The sponsor is working on solutions to keep the programme going during the COVID-19 outbreak. The most significant change is that the entire 2020 edition of the competition will be remote and executed online.

Entrepreneurs based in England that have innovative cleantech ideas are eligible to apply. Ideas may be an innovation in renewable energy, a sustainable food chain transition, a shift in urban mobility or any other means of addressing climate change, as long as it is within the cleantech domain.

The deadline for applications is 11 June 2020.
