Applications Invited for Wales Volunteering Project Funding

A national funding programme focusing on 10-month interventions that tackle barriers to volunteering in Wales is open for applications.

Applications will be accepted from not-for-profit organisations that are independent of government and private sectors for activity taking place in Wales.

The following criteria apply:

The organisation must currently involve volunteers to benefit the community, supported by a volunteering policy, or be an organisation that has developed a volunteering policy and believes involving volunteers will benefit the community.

The proposed project recruits new volunteers and can use a system to monitor and track volunteer involvement and progress.

The organisation is willing and able to take part in an independent evaluation of the impact of the funding provided.

The volunteering project must be delivered from 1 June 2021 and finish by 31 March 2022.

Volunteering by young people is encouraged and supported through the programme and 30% of the funding available has been ring-fenced to support projects that exclusively recruit young volunteers aged 11-25.

Applications that are BAME led and can demonstrate strong involvement of BAME communities, and applications that demonstrate a targeted and measurable positive impact on physical and/or mental health will be prioritised; but applications with a focus on communities and target groups in keeping with the programme’s aims will be considered.

Grants of up to £20,000 are available.

The deadline for applications is 12 April 2021.
