£25m for Scotland’s COVID-hit Wedding Industry
The Scottish Wedding Industry Fund aims to provide support to businesses whose main income comes from the wedding and civil partnerships industry, which has been significantly impacted as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The £25 million fund offers firms a fixed grant amount based on turnover. The funding tiers are:
A £5,000 grant for businesses with a pre-COVID-19 turnover between £10,000 and £49,999.
A £10,000 grant for businesses with a pre-COVID-19 turnover between £50,000 and £99,999.
A £15,000 grant for businesses with a pre-COVID-19 turnover between £100,000 – £249,999.
A £25,000 grant for businesses with a pre-COVID-19 turnover of more than £250,000.
This fund is aimed at supporting businesses that provide services to the wedding industry in Scotland, eg caterers, celebrants, event suppliers, photographers, florists and attire merchants, to name a few.
To be deemed eligible, businesses must be operating in Scotland as a small or medium company or sole trader with a Scottish trading address. They must have lost at least 50% of their overall turnover due to the pandemic.
Applications will be appraised in the order they are received.
There is no fixed deadline for applications. The fund will close when all the money has been allocated.
