Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA)
Closing Date: 25/08/2023
Funding is available for companies, commercial innovators and entrepreneurs from across the NATO Alliance to address challenges involving emerging and disruptive technologies in collective defence and security.
The Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) is designed to equip businesses with the skills and knowledge to navigate the world of deep tech, dual-use innovation. It provides an immersive curriculum and ‘boot-camp’ involving the NATO innovation network and strategic business partners from the commercial and defence markets.
Boot-camp participants compete for a spot in an additional six-month DIANA ‘scale’ programme, which provides tailored support and additional grant funding for a smaller number of participants.
DIANA’s Pilot Challenges
The DIANA challenge programme starts with a competitive Call for Proposals targeting three strategic focus areas: energy resilience, secure information sharing, and sensing and surveillance. Derived from defence and security needs across the Alliance, informed by the state-of-development of commercial technologies, and designed for deep tech innovators – the programme seeks help in solving critical dual-use (civilian and defence) challenges.
