COVID Recovery Funding for Scotland’s Waste Facilities

Tuesday, 21 July, 2020

Zero Waste Scotland and the Scottish Government are offering capital funding to allow licensed operators of waste management facilities in Scotland to implement the necessary infrastructure changes to their sites in response to coronavirus (COVID-19).

The scheme will support applicants in implementing control measures that will allow operational capacity to recover, in line with recommended practices.

Grants of up to £10,000 per site are available. The grant can be used towards the onsite infrastructure adaptations specifically required to meet the needs for preventing the further spread of COVID-19.

Eligible cost items include (but are not limited to) adaptations to:

  • Reception, storage, sorting and onward movement of materials and products.
  • Sorting lines and cabins.
  • Site plant including modifications and upgrades.
  • Traffic and pedestrian management.
  • Delivery and installation.

Applications must be submitted by the deadline of 21 August 2020.
