The new Voluntary Services Recovery Fund is administered by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) on behalf of the Welsh Government. It replaces the Voluntary Services Emergency Fund, which operated for four months in 2020 during the initial phase of the coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak.
The aims of the new fund are to:
Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 are available to support work at a community scale up to a national level.
Applications will be considered from third/voluntary sector (not-for-profit) organisations that are independent of government, private and public sectors.
The fund is primarily focused on revenue funding. However, funding requests can contain costs for purchases of smaller capital equipment including consumables (for example PPE, screens etc).
Activity will be funded for expenditure during the financial year 2020/21. Applications will be considered where expenditure may be incurred outside of this financial year, owing to an essential need. Such a need will need to be clearly demonstrated in the funding request.
The fund is now open to applications, which are accepted on a rolling basis.
