A £1 million fund has been launched to provide financial assistance for up to 500 individuals who have barriers to starting up a business in Wales.
The Barriers To Start Up Grant has been established to enable economically inactive and unemployed individuals to start up a business in Wales and will particularly target those who are facing barriers to business start-up and the employment market. This grant will be in addition to other business start-up support offered through Business Wales.
This discretionary grant will provide financial assistance for 400 individuals who have faced barriers to starting up a business, and up to 100 young entrepreneurs.
If successful, applicants will be expected to consider the role they play in adopting the Welsh Government’s values of equality and sustainability in the running of their new business.
