The Refugee Entrepreneurship Pilot Scheme aims to encourage refugee entrepreneur programmes across the UK. The initiative will identify established local business support organisations to deliver tailored start-up programmes that will take refugees from idea stage to business launch.
The aim is to build the evidence base, toolkit of resources and community of business support organisations to help increase the scale and impact of refugee entrepreneurship programmes nationwide.
Business support organisations that are registered in the UK are eligible to apply. Each successful organisation will receive a maximum grant of £60,000, which must be spent within 12 months from the date when the contract is signed.
The grant will only cover expenditure incurred by the recipient organisation to manage, administrate and deliver the project purpose.
Centre for Entrepreneurs chairman, Oliver Pawle, said:
"This pilot is the first step in helping many more refugees rebuild their lives through entrepreneurship."
The closing date to submit Expressions of Interest is 12pm on Friday 9 August 2019.
